今天多元課程所學的歌之一：寵物店男孩 的 Go West。
歌名的 Go West，
老師 Tommy 說可以參考舊金山的歷史背景。
舊金山地理位置在美國的西邊，
而第二次世界大戰後很多軍人因為同志身份退役後遷居於此並公開出櫃，
因此目前舊金山有全美最高比例的同性伴侶家庭。
不過當我疑惑的詢問是否這首 Go West 是寫給同志的，
Tommy 告訴我『不是』，
並且說他以前在美國居住的地區有很多摩門教徒，
這首歌就超受摩門教徒歡迎的；
應該說，只要是曾經被排斥排擠、曾經歷經辛苦抗爭過程的族群，
摩門教徒、黑人族群，應該都會喜歡這首歌吧！
因此，這首歌雖然不是寫給同志族群的歌，
但我相信就歌詞的意境來說，應該也會很受同志族群的歡迎的吧～

1. hand in hands：不僅僅是字面上單純的手牽手的意思，還有互相合作互相幫助的意思。
2. thrive：興旺、繁榮、成功
〈但網路上另外有找到歌詞為 We will work and strive。strive：努力、奮鬥〉
〈兩個單字的發音─ thrive／strive 也有點類似，也都還挺適用於歌詞內的。〉
3. 《意境》：(So that's why) I make no protest
因為同意信任的人的想法與意見，因武不會反對
也因為相信對方，因此當對方說 will do the rest 也不會去抗議／反對
而不是可以依賴信賴的人，也不可能讓對方去 do the rest
4. destiny：命運
但中文的命運比較有種宿命論、有種無法逃避的味道；
而西方的 destiny 則帶有一種人生的目的／目標的意思。

冬天的太陽總是讓人感覺溫暖、帶有希望的，
因此 We will do just fine, everyting will be okay
